Buying, Shipping & Returns
Each original painting is shipped from my studio in Berlin, Germany. I carefully prepare every artwork for its journey, with particular attention to protecting the painted surface. I’m happy to arrange delivery to collectors around the world.
How to purchase
- Open the artwork you are interested in and send a purchase enquiry with your delivery country, postal code and framing preference. There is no commitment to buy.
- I will reply personally. We agree the order details, the price including any requested frame, and the shipping and payment arrangements.
- Once we have agreed the details, you receive the payment information. Sending an enquiry does not trigger a payment.
- After payment and dispatch, you receive tracking information.
Prices & framing
Standard shipping within Germany is included. Shipping to other countries is quoted individually before purchase.
Optional floater frame: +€120 for 50 × 70 cm or +€150 for 60 × 80 cm.
When placing your order, you can choose your painting without an additional frame or with a wooden floating frame at an extra cost. Without a floating frame, the original painting remains stretched on its wooden stretcher frame and is ready to hang. The floating-frame option is delivered fully assembled.
Your chosen option and the additional frame price are confirmed before purchase. Paintings are never rolled or removed from their stretcher frames for shipping.
Shipping to your destination
Germany — Free Shipping
Free standard shipping throughout Germany — whether you choose your painting with or without a floating frame. Shipping is included in the artwork price. No customs duties or import charges apply to deliveries within Germany.
European Union — No Customs Duties
I ship to collectors throughout the European Union, including France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria and other EU countries. There are no customs duties on shipments within the EU customs territory.
Shipping costs are calculated individually according to the artwork, your framing choice and destination. The total shipping price and estimated delivery time are confirmed before you place your order. Special tax or customs arrangements may apply to certain overseas territories and islands.
United States — Original Art Is Generally Duty-Free
Original paintings executed entirely by hand generally qualify for a 0% standard U.S. customs duty rate under HTSUS 9701.91.00. This refers to original paintings, not reproduced prints. Separately classified or unusually valuable decorative frames may be treated differently.
International shipping costs are calculated individually and confirmed before purchase. Carrier clearance or handling fees and applicable state or local taxes may still arise. A 0% customs duty rate does not mean that every import-related charge is zero.
United Kingdom — Reduced Import VAT
Original hand-painted artworks imported into Great Britain generally qualify for 0% standard customs duty and an effective 5% import VAT rate, provided they meet the relevant classification and eligibility rules.
Import VAT is generally based on a customs value that includes relevant shipping and insurance costs. The carrier may also charge a clearance fee. Shipping costs and the estimated delivery time are confirmed before purchase. Different rules can apply to Northern Ireland.
Worldwide — Your Location Is Welcome
Collectors from Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Asia and elsewhere are warmly welcome. I’m happy to explore shipping to your destination, with or without a floating frame, subject to local import and transport requirements.
For example, original paintings by artists generally enter Canada duty-free, although GST/HST, provincial taxes and clearance fees may apply. In Australia, original paintings are generally duty-free, but 10% import GST and handling fees may apply. For Switzerland and other countries, the applicable import taxes and procedures depend on the shipment.

Customs & Additional Charges
For destinations outside the EU, customs duties, import taxes and carrier clearance fees may apply. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, these destination-country charges are paid by the recipient and are not included in the artwork price or shipping quote. Final amounts are determined by the relevant authorities and transport providers.
Packaging & Transport Insurance
Each artwork is carefully packed to suit its dimensions, materials and painted surface. I arrange tracked transport and insurance appropriate to the artwork’s value and destination. The shipping method, insurance coverage and estimated delivery time are confirmed before purchase.
Returns & Damaged Deliveries
Damaged delivery
If your artwork arrives damaged, please contact me promptly, take photographs of the damage and keep the packaging if possible. I will help resolve the matter. Your statutory rights in relation to damaged or defective goods remain unaffected; I cover necessary return shipping costs where required by those rights.
Returns & withdrawal
Where applicable, consumers purchasing ready-made original paintings online have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. If you exercise this right because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the direct cost of return shipping, provided this has been disclosed before purchase. I’m happy to help coordinate a suitable return method.
Choosing a standard floating-frame option does not, by itself, remove statutory withdrawal rights.
