Since becoming a mother, I think differently about the future. I wonder what kind of world my son will grow up in, what experiences await him, and what might give him strength when I'm not by his side. The more I think about it, the more aware I become of how little we can control about what lies ahead.
In Unseen, there is little stillness. Movements overlap, colors meet and build into dense layers, leaving little open space. Red, which runs through the series as a trace of love and connection, takes up almost the entire canvas here for the first time.
I keep thinking about how easily, amid our worries, fears, and the demands of life, we lose sight of what sustains us.
Love, friendship, closeness, the feeling that we matter to someone—none of these is tangible, and we're not always consciously aware of them. Yet these connections can leave lasting traces and continue to live within us, even when the people we share them with are no longer nearby.
The uncertainty doesn't go away. But it isn't all there is.
